The City of Arlington wishes to extend a huge thank you to the vendors, sponsors, guest speakers and participants who made this year's Aging Well Expo a success!
Mayor Jeff Williams and Commissioner Andy Nguyen welcomed more than 1,000 people to this year's free event, which was held March 21 at the Arlington Convention Center.
The Aging Well Expo, a coordinated effort of the City of Arlington, Tarrant County, and many community sponsors, featured more than 150 vendors, fitness demonstrations, health screenings, housing resources, information on volunteering in the community, educational presentations and more. Those who preregistered for the event received a free lunch.
"We're thrilled with the positive feedback from this year's Aging Well Expo, which was our highest attended yet," said event organizer Kelly Geer, who works for Arlington's Parks and Recreation Department. "This community event is all about providing our residents with valuable tips and information on how to live their best life here in The American Dream City."

In addition to free screenings and demonstrations, participants had the chance to listen to a variety of speakers on topics such as travel, senior living options, cybersecurity and medical advances for hip and knee replacement. Keynote speaker Dave Lieber, known as the Dallas Morning News Watchdog, showed participants the latest tips and secret maneuvers to protect themselves from bad businesses and scammers.
Baylor Orthopedic and Spine Hospital at Arlington, who provided participants with free orthopedic assessments, was the Aging Well Expo's presenting sponsor this year. Diamond sponsors were UnitedHealthcare Medical Solutions, WellMed and New LifeStyles.
