Interested youth got the chance to fly above the city on June 13, all thanks to the Young Eagles Rally held at Arlington Municipal Airport by the local chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA).
"It was one of the best experiences ever," said Young Eagle Aaron when he returned from his own personal flight over Arlington.
Aaron, who has thoughts of entering the Air Force and wants to be a mechanical engineer when he gets older, was one of almost 100 kids who received an extraordinary memory that they will always cherish.
"We do this for the kids," said EAA member and volunteer pilot Jerry Ritchie. "It helps the kids set goals, build confidence, expose them to science, and see the world from a different perspective."
Ritchie gave the Arlington Office of Communication the same experience the Young Eagles have, by taking us up in his very own home-built airplane.
Here is the video of that flight.
