Community leader Jeff Williams was sworn in Tuesday as Arlington's 26th mayor during the evening city council meeting at City Hall. The event was held in front of family, friends and supporters.
City Councilmembers Robert Rivera (District 3), Kathryn Wilemon (District 4), Lana Wolff (District 5) and Michael Glaspie, Jr. (at large District 8) were also sworn in for two year terms.
Mayor Williams told the audience he is eager to begin working to make Arlington an even better place to live, work and visit.
"I am humbled by the honor the people of Arlington have bestowed on me," Mayor Williams said. "I look forward to working with Arlington's residents, business community, city leaders, staff and the City Council to take Arlington to the next level. We have big dreams for this community and to make those dreams a reality we need to be inclusive, build consensus and work together. With that attitude, the sky is the limit for Arlington."
