Free tickets, t-shirts and burgers for students are just part of the fun for the first-ever baseball game between UT Arlington and Texas at Globe Life Park.
The Mavericks and Longhorns are meeting for the first time in Arlington at the home of the Texas Rangers on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Tickets are on sale now for a discounted rate of $8 at utatickets.com. (Tickets on game day at Globe Life Park are $12.)
UT Arlington is hosting a tailgate before the game for all fans in Lot A, which opens at 4 p.m. Chairs, coolers and grills all welcome. (Glass bottles are prohibited.) Food and beer will also be available for purchase. General parking in Lot A is $5. First base gates will open at 5 p.m. for all ticket holders.
UTA students can claim two complimentary game tickets at utatickets.com. Students can also take advantage of free transportation to and from Globe Life Park. Buses will load at the corner of Center Street and Moritz Plaza near the Dipert Welcome Center.
Students with tickets are also welcome to a free In-N-Out burger, chips and drink on the Moritz Plaza prior to loading bus. (Food will be served from 4-7 p.m.) There will also be free t-shirts for students at tailgate area at Globe Life Park.
Stadium drop off/return point is at Nolan Ryan and Randol Mill. Buses will start running at 4 p.m. and will circulate until the last student is back to campus after the game.
UTA is 9-7 on the season after this weekend's Sun Belt Conference series win over South Alabama. Texas is 13-7.
