The building layout for the new Lake House is starting to take shape as concrete pouring continues at Richard Simpson Park. However, the wet weather has put the construction schedule a few days behind. The contractor will be attempting to catch up with work on the weekends if needed.
Over the next 30 days, workers will start constructing the concrete building foundation slab, with vertical walls following in two or three weeks.
Demolition of the boat dock entry drive, at the end of Arkansas Lane, will take place followed by the reconstruction of the new boat dock entry drive. Workers will also start working on the concrete paving/drop off lane at the new Lake House entrance and begin working on the new concrete parking lot off Arkansas Lane.
Phase one of park redevelopment improvements started in late October 2017. The $3.5 million project, scheduled to be complete by December 2018, aligns with the Arlington City Council priority to Champion Great Neighborhoods. Construction is funded through the 2008 Bond Referendum and Arlington Tomorrow Foundation.
