Arlington Police Department Receives

Finn, pictured here, is one of two current K9 dogs. However, with the donation by Tarrant County Blue, Arlington PD's K9 unit is about to grow.

After mourning the loss of Police Service Dog Mojo over the summer, the Arlington Police Department has received a donation for the purchase of a new K9. Tarrant County Blue made the donation to the Arlington Police Foundation, as part of their mission to support local law enforcement agencies.

On July 19, 2016 K9 Mojo passed away after searching for an aggravated assault suspect. He was the first service dog in the department's history to die in the line of duty.

"I want to express our appreciation to Tarrant County Blue for this generous donation to the department for the purchase of a new K9," said Police Chief, Will Johnson. "The loss of Mojo touched not only all of us here at the department, but our entire community. We appreciate the donation and look forward to our continued relationship with Tarrant County Blue."

Police K9 teams are loyal companions and partners and provide a valuable service to the citizens of Arlington. The Arlington Police Department K9 Unit is currently comprised of two service dogs, Finn and Hank.

Tarrant County Blue has more than 40 board members that include police officials, city and state government representatives and many other area leaders of business and industry. Tarrant County Blue was started by Logan Morse, who wanted to find a way to express appreciation to local law enforcement agencies. She is the daughter of Greg Morse, chairman of Tarrant County Blue.
