Texas SmartScape Plant Sale
Summertime is fast approaching, and with the summer heat comes expensive water bills! But those water bills can be reduced. More than half of a typical household's outdoor water use goes to watering the lawn and garden, and converting to a water-efficient landscape through the proper choice of plants and careful design can reduce this water use by 20 to 50 percent. Once native and adapted plants are established, they require a lot less water than other plants do. To help reduce the amount of water used- and money spent- on your landscape, consider converting to a Texas SmartScape™ yard or garden. For more information, come to the City of Arlington's SmartScape Month event on Saturday, May 16 at Home Depot (201 W Road To Six Flags) from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or visit www.txsmartscape.com for other DFW metroplex events.
Arlington Animal Services invites all area dog owners to bring their four-legged friends to Six Flags Over Texas on Sunday. The event runs from 8-9:30 a.m. and features a themed walk that allows your dog to become a super hero for a day. Bring one dry dog food donation and receive one half-off admission to the park. Costumes are encouraged for your pets and they will be given the chance to have a photo taken in front of a Justice League backdrop. The new ride, Justice League: Battle for Metropolis, opens to the public on Saturday, May 23. Registration begins at 8 a.m.

And we want to remind you that the two ACM Party for a Cause night concerts that were taped at Globe Life Park in April will air Friday night. "Superstar Duets" kicks off at 8 p.m. CT on CBS.
Art lovers can check out a new exhibit at Arlington Museum of Art in Downtown this weekend! The exhibit contains almost 200 pieces from avant-garde Post-Impressionist artists working in a new French "modern" style. Built around the work of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, painter of scenes and artists from the famed Paris theatre the Moulin Rouge, this expansive exhibit will explore the anti-establishment movement among artists seeking alternative means to bring their art to a broad public and break out of the traditional molds. The exhibit is open to the public from Saturday, May 16, 2015 to Sunday, August 16, 2015.
