The polls closed at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016, for the joint general and special elections. Ballots are now being counted.

Arlington voters cast ballots for four Arlington City Council seats, two of which were contested.

Here are unofficial early voting results:

District 1

Charlie Parker - 924 votes, 70.16 percent
Kelly Canon - 393 votes, 29.84 percent

District 2

Sheri Capehart, 685 votes, 100 percent

District 6

Robert Shepard, 3,269 votes, 100 percent

District 7

Victoria Farrar-Myers, 2,758 votes, 71.23 percent
Chris Dobson, 1,114 votes, 28.77 percent
