A new partnership between the City of Arlington and SilverSneakers aims to help seniors stay fit and healthy.
The SilverSneakers program combines energetic workouts and social elements so your exercise feels more like a friendly hangout. Their group classes help develop specific skills and muscles, such as weight training and yoga, but they also don"t underestimate the fun of a simple hike. Program Advisors, who guide and assist all activities through SilverSneakers, help each participant get the most out of their program.
"Study after study proves that a healthy, active lifestyle improves quality of life. This fact remains true whether you"re four or 84. Unfortunately, as the mind grows wiser the couch starts looking more and more relaxing. The City of Arlington wants our seniors continue challenging their bodies and their minds, so we"ve partnered with SilverSneakers Fitness.
If making new friends and forming an achievable fitness plan isn"t enough, SilverSneakers is also free for eligible enthusiasts. Group retirees or those with a Medicare health plan may already have a SilverSneakers membership.
Check your eligibility at SilverSneakers.com.
