Each fall, students from Educandato Statale "Collegio Uccellis" in Udine, Italy, visit Arlington as part of an exchange program with Arlington ISD's Martin High School. The program has existed since 2009.
The 19 students and two teachers who are participating in the program this year visited City Hall and met with Mayor Robert Cluck, City Manager Trey Yelverton and City Council Member Sheri Capehart on Tuesday, October 21.
During the meeting in City Council Chambers, students learned about our local economy and politics as well as how those issues affect people in Arlington.
According to one of the chaperones, the exchange students will return to Italy on October 27. This is the sixth group to visit Martin High School. Martin students will visit Udine during Spring Break.
