The Arlington City Council has chosen Lori Brooks, CPA, CIA, CGAP, CRMA as the City's new City Auditor. Brooks has more than 30 years of auditing and accounting experience, including 16 years in government internal auditing. She is a certified public accountant, certified internal auditor, certified government auditing professional, and holds a certification in Risk Management Assurance.

"Lori Brooks will continue to uphold the integrity and standards with which this department operates," said Mayor Robert Cluck.

Most recently, Brooks held the position of Audit Manager for the City of Richmond, Virginia. She also served as the Internal Audit Director for Sarasota County, Florida and the Internal Audit Officer for Pinal County, Arizona. Brooks began her career in public accounting, which included working for one of the Big Four accounting firms (now PricewaterhouseCoopers). Over the years, she has held several auditing and accounting positions in both public and private organizations, including the Trinity River Authority, City of Arlington and RadioShack. Brooks received her B.S. degree in accounting from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX.

"Working together with common goals and objectives, we can successfully improve efficiency, effectiveness and accountability within our city government," said Brooks.

Brooks succeeds Patrice Randle, who is now City Auditor for the City of Fort Worth. Brooks is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, the Association of Local Government Auditors and the Association of Government Accountants. She previously served on the Board of Governors for the Tucson Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
