Arlington's City Manager's Office is happy to announce that Candy Halliburton has been selected as volunteer of the month.
Residents can find Candy at the City Hall Information Desk every Monday afternoon, where she helps visitors find the right department, person or form to fill out.
"I like the diversity and seeing all the citizens of Arlington," Candy shared. "I've learned a lot, too, about where you go for different things because of all the requests I hear."
The job comes naturally to Candy, who spent years as a paralegal and loves identifying what people need and figuring out how to help them.
Since February of 2013, Candy has been assisting residents at City Hall, but this is not her first way to give back to the Arlington community. She's volunteered for the Arlington Conservation Council, served on the Parks and Recreation Board for six years, and is involved with Friends of the Arlington Library.
With a strong affinity for staying active, she's also volunteered at her family's favorite park, River Legacy Park, which has a "perfect bike path." Candy and her husband moved to Arlington 17 years ago and chose to live in The American Dream City due in large part because of the extensive park system and the numerous trees spread throughout the City.
Everyone wants to express their gratitude to Candy for her years of service to Arlington and her wonderful attitude!
