Whether with hot dogs and cold drinks or bounce houses and colorful balloons, nearly 200 neighborhoods across Arlington gathered outdoors late Tuesday to celebrated National Night Out.
Arlington Police Chief Will Johnson, along with other city and community leaders, visited several of the parties to chat with residents and answer questions.
This year's National Night Out saw a record 196 parties, Johnson said. The police chief praised the department's ever-expanding community outreach efforts and expressed his thanks for residents' participation with law enforcement to help make Arlington a safe place to live, work, play and learn.
