Smiles and laughter warm the hearts of senior residents during pet therapy sessions

Animal Services Center (ASC) Manager Chris Huff and Volunteer Coordinator Cheri Colbert made a special visit to Arbrook Plaza Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Tuesday, April 23.

Pet therapy canine volunteer partner Deacon, a large, docile and handsome Golden Retriever/Great Pyrenees mix thrives on bringing smiles to senior citizens.

Huff engaged the group as they discussed the benefits of pet therapy. Each resident received a stuffed animal that came complete with its own name and personal story.

Arbrook Plaza's Activity Director Terry Dunn is always glad when ASC staff and pet therapy dogs are available to visit their facility.

Deacon, a senior himself, has an amazing love for visiting with senior citizens of Arlington.
