Eric Walker, senior for Martin High School 's baseball and football teams, has been selected as the City of Arlington 's Student-Athlete of the Month for April 2016.

With a 7-2 record on the mound in 2016 and a 0.40 ERA, Walker has been a leader for the Warriors and was an integral part in the team 's run to the State Championship last season.

Eric continues to add to the Walker family legacy at Martin High School. His older brother, UT Arlington graduate Ryan Walker, is now a member of the Twins organization and is currently playing shortstop for the team 's Advanced Single A affiliate, the Fort Myers Miracle.

Eric has also excelled in the classroom during his four years at Arlington ISD 's Martin High School and has committed to play baseball next season for the LSU Tigers.

Head Baseball Coach Curt Culbertson says Eric has earned the respect of his teammates and his teachers by working hard, setting a positive example and always treating others with respect.
