The City of Arlington has detected a new positive West Nile Virus (WNV) mosquito sample from the following location:
The City will begin targeted ground spraying on Tuesday, October 7, from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., weather permitting. An ultra-low volume application of Permanone RTU, an oil-based Permethrin will be used. The targeted ground spraying follows recommendations from the City of Arlington Health Authority, Tarrant County Public Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Vector Disease Control.
Employees and contractors have and will continue to be proactive by conducting routine trapping and larviciding in strategic locations throughout the City. Targeted ground spraying will only occur in areas where WNV positive trapping has occurred.
We are aware some residents may be outdoors working to cleanup storm debris from the recent weather incident.
