Storm Damage

A powerful thunderstorm passed through Arlington Thursday afternoon, uprooting trees, bringing down power lines and destroying fences in the process. As of 8:30 p.m., approximately 36,000 people were without power.

While Oncor crews work to restore power, City of Arlington crews work to clear fallen trees and other debris from roadways. Drivers will notice police officers providing traffic support. At one point this afternoon, more than 20 intersections were without power.
