Ah, Spring time. Even Shakespeare knew the beauty of hearing birds chirp and seeing flowers bloom. The best part about this season of renewal is the abundance of Arlington Parks and Recreation programs available. With the release of the 2015 Spring Naturally Fun Magazine comes an avalanche of fun events, camps, and activities to help you shake that cabin fever.

Daddy-Daughter Dance

After spending all winter bundled in your pajamas, an excuse to dress up may be the right motivation to get out of bed. Dads, if your daughter is convinced she has ice powers and enjoys singing songs about letting go of reservations, the Daddy-Daughter Dance is a great opportunity to treat her like a princess. This year, a Frozen theme has attracted more attendees than ever before. Decorations, dining, and dancing will all be provided. A little bonding will have you and your daughter finishing each other 's… sandwiches!

Naturally Fun Fitness

Individual recreation locations provide specialized activities for ages one to 101. Social butterflies can migrate towards the various workout classes, and more bashful guests can knock off the holiday fat with great cardio and weight room options.

WHEN: Right now! Fitness classes are available as early as 6 am and as late as 7pm to fit schedules of all sizes. Each recreation center has its own diverse selection of activities.

Sports Leagues

A sport teaches social skills, hand-eye coordination, determination, and more. So, what are you waiting for? Whether you 're looking to make some lasting friendships, or you 're in it to win it, leagues provide a fun way to get fit. Although regular sports like basketball, softball, and flag football always fill up quickly, the new Bubble Soccer demands to be taken seriously. Well, as seriously as you can take a giant plastic ball bouncing down the court. Besides the Sports Leagues, each recreation center instructs various martial arts, dance, and new-to-sports classes, for all ages.

WHEN: Spring registration begins in January for Lacrosse, while the other sports open in February. Season starts approximately one month after registration ends.

Tennis & Golf Centers

The Arlington Tennis Center is another place to start if you 're searching for something new. Regular drills, tournaments, and lessons can make any beginner into a worthy opponent, while the resident pros tweak the more experienced player 's game. On a similar note, the four Arlington Parks and Recreation golf courses have something for everyone. Tierra Verde Golf Club was named a top golf course in DFW for the past 3 years, but if golf isn 't your thing, try the Meadowbrook Footgolf Course. This hybrid of soccer and golf improves your footwork and gives you a chance to enjoy nature alongside a gorgeous golf course.

Arts and Crafts and All Sorts of Fun

Parents, need time to yourself? We can take care of your little ones, and teach them a new skill! How many babysitters can say that? From cooking to art to music, experienced teachers lead entertaining classes for all ages at the Arlington recreation centers. Cliff Nelson offers "Little Chefs Cooking Class" where your 3 to 5-year-old can get a taste of the basics. Dottie Lynn presents "Coffee & Crafting" for seniors and teens, where you can tackle the Pinterest crafts you 've always wanted to, with enjoyable conversation on the side. Elzie Odom 's "CPR Basic Training" is literally a life-saver for anyone looking to be safe this summer, as long as you 're 9 or older. Finally, Hugh Smith pulls out your inner rock star with their "Guitar" and "Keyboarding" classes, for ages 8+ and 6 to 15, respectively.
