Here's a little-known fact: women have been playing baseball since the mid-1800s. Their impact on the game and American society is brought to light in the traveling exhibit "Linedrives and Lipstick: The Untold Story of Women's Baseball" at the Arlington Museum of Art.
The Arlington Museum of Art has excess of 48 photographs and related graphics, as well as over 15 artifacts documenting the history of women's contributions to the major leagues. The museum has also been fortunate enough to establish a great relationship with the original curator of the exhibit, an archivist from St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana, who has generously agreed to provide additional pieces for the exhibit.
Admission to the exhibit is $8 for adults, $5 for students and seniors (over 65), free to members and children under 12 with an adult.
