Internet video series highlights exemplary parks and recreation staff members

The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department has repeatedly been acknowledged as an exemplary municipal department; however, the true value of the department has always come from the staff members that operate within it.

The APRD has recently developed a new avenue for showcasing the talent and dedication of some of our extraordinary staff members, volunteers and coaches. The YouTube series "Stars of the Parks' will introduce the public to individuals who are making a difference every day in our community.

"It is important to acknowledge the individuals who go above and beyond the call of duty for the betterment of our communities,' Electronic Media Specialist Justin Snasel said. "Staff who are selected as "Stars of the Parks’ were nominated because they had exemplified an outstanding sense of character and commitment to making Arlington a wonderful place.'

The first "Stars of the Parks' video, featuring youth baseball umpire Danyale Webb, was created after the department received several emails about how much their children enjoyed her as an umpire. "When we went out to get footage of her in action it was obvious why we had received so much positive feedback,' Marketing and Enterprise Development Manager Ryan Hegreness said. "Her positive attitude, energy and love for the kids was contagious.'

The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department has requested that the community become involved in highlighting staff members who are making a difference.
