During the Oct. 4 executive session, the Arlington Independent School District Board of Trustees extended Dr. Marcelo Cavazos an invitation to interview for the superintendent position.

The interview is expected to take place near the end of October; the official date and time of the interview will be posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act. Once the interview is conducted, the Board will move swiftly in its decision. The district will post the position as required by Texas Education Code.

Cavazos has served as interim superintendent since June after trustees announced Jerry McCullough's departure.
