UT Arlington’s Annual Move-In Event Gets Underway Aug. 18
The University of Texas at Arlington welcomes students back on campus during its annual Move-in Event Aug. 18.
The annual event is sponsored by Apartment and Residence Life and University Housing. More than 600 faculty, staff and student volunteers assist the 2,183 residents moving into the university's six residence halls.
"We always appreciate the support of the City of Arlington," Director of Apartment and Residence Life Mari Duncan said. "In the past the Mayor has joined us for Move-in Event, and this year several City Council members will be coming to greet students and their families."
An anticipated 1,139 first year students will be living in the residence halls, which is approximately 60 percent of all first year students.
"It is a great way to welcome our residents to the Maverick Community and their home away from home," Duncan said.
UT Arlington is also welcoming Dr. Timothy Quinnan, the new Vice President for Student Affairs, who will start in September. Dr. Quinnan is currently the associate vice president for campus life at San Diego State University, and formerly held leadership roles in student affairs at the University of Michigan, University of Cincinnati and Florida State University.
