Wedding vendors and bridal parties from around the Metroplex came to Arlington Sunday for the first ever bridal show hosted by Globe Life Park in Arlington.

Guests from around North Texas entered the doors of the ballpark by the hundreds, submitting raffle tickets to receive prizes such as facial scrubs and a $300 discount on a photography wedding package.

Kim Lovett, president of Soiree Boutique Bridal Shows, a Rockwall bridal boutique, which coordinated the event, said about 400 people preregistered, however it looked like about 700 guest were in attendance.

"When we can bring crowds like that to Arlington, it's a good thing," Lovett said.

Vendors such as Mary Kay Inc., Amia Fundraising, violinist Richmond Punch and more offered brides and grooms something unique for their special day.

As guests made their way to different booths, they sampled things such as bacon-covered ice cream, body wraps and wedding cakes.

Bride-to-be and Dallas resident, Aimee Muir, said visiting the bridal show was a significant step in her wedding planning.

"One of the reasons why I'm here, as well, is because my fiancé loves the Rangers," Muir said. "They actually have a booth set up for a reception here. So, this is like perfect for me to come out here."

At the center of the first floor, Kia Davis, Ms. Arlington, Texas Plus America, prompted a marriage expert with questions to helped audience members understand ways to sustain their future marriage.

Models, including Michelle Berndt, Mrs. Texas International, followed a procession, sporting wedding dresses, suits and jewelry from vendors featured at the show.

Berndt said the bridal show offered people from the community another reason to visit the ballpark.

"I think it's just a great venue to bring out the community [and] get everyone together," Berndt said. "And especially for the brides, just [to] help them have a wonderful day and feel beautiful and confident inside."

Sean Decker, assistant vice president for Rangers Enterprises, said he anticipates the bridal show to be an annual event.

"Hosting the bridal show is a no-brainer for us because, again, it's one of those events that gets people in the community out having a great time," Decker said. "We hope that this is an event that… brides all over the Metroplex are excited to come to year in and year out."
