Sunrise Pep Rally and community breakfast set for Friday, Aug. 30
Downtown Arlington Management Corporation and The University of Texas at Arlington bring the WBAP Morning News Team to College Park District from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, for a live, drive time broadcast. Click here for flyer.
The Rise & Shine event will feature WBAP News Talk/96.7 FM and 810 AM morning anchors Hal Jay, Brian Estridge, and sports commentator Steve Lamb and will take place on Moritz Plaza outside UT Arlington's College Park Center. An on-air, Sunrise Pep Rally begins at 7:15 a.m.
Community members, students, faculty and staff are invited to join the UT Arlington MavBrass band, UT Arlington Spirit Squads, the Wranglers and Blaze, the University mascot for the pep rally. Smiling Moose Deli, located in the College Park District, will provide complimentary breakfast on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
Civic and University leaders will be on site to discuss the successful town and gown partnerships that are driving private and public redevelopment in Downtown Arlington. From the Levitt Pavilion to the new Metro Arlington Xpress bus stop at College Park, lines between downtown Arlington and the UT Arlington campus have blurred.
Development of the 20-acre College Park District and the 7,000-seat College Park Center have attracted new restaurants, residential development and visitors to the city's historic core.
