Here's a look at MyArlingtonTX.com's top five events scheduled for Friday, August 23 - Sunday, August 25.

Hatch Chile Festival at the Downtown Arlington Farmers Market

The annual Hatch Chile Festival (previously held at the Cooper Street Farmer's Market) will heat things up in Downtown Arlington so fiery food lovers can satisfy their need for the season's best from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm on Friday and Saturday. Shoppers can choose between raw hatch chiles or peppers roasted that day at the Farmers Market. This festival is free.

Irrigation 101

Learn the basic components of an irrigation system, typical maintenance issues, plant water demands, water scheduling techniques and water efficient technologies to save water and money during this adult workshop at River Legacy Living Science Center. If the weather is great, Dustan Compton, Conservation Program Coordinator for Arlington Water Utilities, will provide a hands-on demonstration at the center's outdoor educational garden. Free. Call 817.860.6752 to RSVP.

Show Off the Golden Arm

If you're looking for something fun to do this weekend, head on over to Alley Cats in Arlington for Sunday Morning Madness. Enjoy unlimited bowling, a $10 Fun Card for arcade games, a jumbo hot dog, and a 16 oz soft drink-all for $15.99! Great for the entire family.

Visit the Smithsonian Without Leaving Arlington

You only have until Sunday to see the Arlington Museum of Art's summer exhibition Harlem Renaissance: A Celebration of Art & Culture. See works from artists such as Jacob Lawrence, Charles White, Aaron Douglas and Richmond Barthé. While there, head upstairs to see Arlington's first Smithsonian art exhibition, William H. Johnson: An American Modern. This exhibit, curated by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibits Services (SITES), brings 20 pieces of Johnson's work, including paintings, drawings and pictures.
