Meet Sarah Rothschild, a recipient of the 2012 Richard Greene Scholarship award. This savvy student hopes to attend the University of Texas at Austin after graduation from Lamar High School and aspires to study journalism to become a reporter.
Rothschild went on location to the Arlington Animal Services (AAS) Center and to learn about the work done at the shelter. AAS Administrative Coordinator Cheri Colbert took her through the daily operations of the shelter and Sarah rolled up her sleeves then went right to work assisting Colbert with some administrative duties.
Animal loving Rothschild, with a Chihuahua of her own named Sophie, reported, “This is the first shelter I’ve ever visited, and I’m surprised at how many wonderful animals are available need homes and are available for adoption.”
Congratulations to Rothschild for being a scholarship recipient, and best wishes to her for a bright and successful future. We hope that her compassion for shelter animals will be a reporting topic of choice in a future professional endeavor to help homeless animals.
