Happy 10th birthday, Levitt Pavilion Arlington! In a decade-long tradition that has yet to be broken, Levitt Pavilion Arlington continues its fall season of free concerts this Friday night at 8 p.m. with The Vandoliers. The weekend continues at 8 p.m. with Bruce Robison & Kelly Willis on Saturday, September 8. Danny Wright, the pianist and composer known as The Healer of Hearts, comes to town on Sunday at 8 p.m. All concerts are free and family friendly this season except for Barenaked Ladies, which requires a ticket purchase. Come celebrate the wonderful resource of water with The City of Arlington's Water Utilities as it joins forces with River Legacy Living Science Center to raise awareness for the importance of water education and conservation. The 14th annual Water Awareness through Education and Recreation (W.A.T.E.R.) Festival is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018 at River Legacy Living Science Center, 703 N.W. Green Oaks Blvd. This event is free to the public and will include a variety of family-friendly activities, crafts, games and demonstrations.
Check out live music this weekend at Texas Live!, the new $250 million world-class dining, entertainment and hospitality district located near the Rangers' Globe Life Park and Cowboys' AT&T Stadium in The American Dream City. Arlington Backyard, a 5,000-capacity outdoor event pavilion, is expected to host more than 250 events annually. The Night Shift, a high-energy dance band, performs at 9 p.m. at the Arlington Backyard on Friday, September 7. The College Game Day Watch Party kicks off on Saturday at 11 a.m. in front of a Texas-Sized Television. Matt and Kim will perform at 8 p.m. on Saturday at the Arlington Backyard and Live 80 gets underway at 9 p.m. in the Live! Arena. Click here for information about Texas Live! parking.
It's time to break out the swimwear, slather on the sunscreen, and dust off your sunglasses for a fun-filled season at Hurricane Harbor! This summer season is sure to rock with plenty of activities for the entire family. Cool off with the kiddos at Hook's Lagoon with four mini slides, water sprayers and shallow water to splash around in. For the thrills seekers in the family, hop onto Tornado and travel down the 132 foot slide in the mouth of a gigantic funnel. Hurricane Harbor will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, continues its 57th season in The American Dream City. The park will open this weekend for guests to enjoy their favorite coasters and attractions, including the ultimate Super-Villain thrill ride—HARLEY QUINN Spinsanity. The park's operating hours are from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. 7. Splash Into September at Hugh Smith Indoor Pool
As summer comes to an end, the pools will be closing for the season. However, if you purchased an outdoor season pass for City pools, then you can still use it through September at Hugh Smith Indoor Pool. Keep summer going after school starts with open swim hours every day of the week. Features include a perfect 86 degree water temperature year round, handicap access, and changing room and restroom facilities. 8. Mobile Pet Adoption Event at PetSmart in the Arlington Highlands
Join Arlington Animal Services for a tail-wagging, family-friendly, pet-saving community event this Saturday, September 8 at the PetSmart in the Arlington Highlands, 203 E. Interstate I-20, Suite 101, Arlington, TX 76018. Adorable, adoptable pets looking for new homes will be available at the mobile adoption unit from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for immediate adoption. Head over to Grease Monkey Burger Shop & Social Club in Downtown Arlington for live music this weekend. On Friday, September 7, Grease Monkey will celebrate its 7th Anniversary in The American Dream City. Come out at 6 p.m. for live music, raffles and giveaways. Clayton Gardner will perform from 6-9 p.m. and Brandon Steadman from 9 p.m. to midnight. On Saturday, September 7, Legacy 4 will take the stage at 9 p.m. Audiences can expect to hear some of the greatest hits in both R&B and Motown. Check out live music with Harper & Lee this Friday, September 7, 2018 at J.R. Bentley's in Downtown Arlington. The show starts at 8 p.m. On Saturday, Davis & Rose perform at 8 p.m. Situated in a historic home, J.R. Bentley's has the feel of an authentic English pub and features several local and area bands throughout the year. The venue is located at 406 W Abram St, Arlington, TX 76010.
