The back-to-back American League Champion Texas Rangers and their fans were winners at this year's Fan Fest, which ran January 13 - 15 at the Arlington Convention Center.

April 2012 will mark the 40th Anniversary of the Texas Rangers in Arlington. Fan Fest has been held for more than 20 years.

Thousands of enthusiastic fans lined up for autograph opportunities with current and former Rangers players, coaches, and broadcasters, including Michael Young and Mike Napoli on Friday, club president Nolan Ryan, Ian Kinsler, and Josh Hamilton on Saturday, and Elvis Andrus and Neftali Feliz on Sunday. Fans could also have their photo taken with the 2010 and 2011 American League Champion trophies.

"I like the excitement," said Jennifer Jones of Burleson. "I'm ready for baseball to be back."

Her son Britt added, "It's really cool to get to see all the people here and stuff. It's fun."

On Saturday afternoon, long time Rangers' broadcaster and former big league pitcher Steve Busby interviewed Ian Kinsler on the Event Main Stage. The Rangers second baseman explained how he spent the off-season working on his conditioning and spending time with his family.

"Maybe we can just take that next step and win it all," said Kinsler, who posed for photos and answered fans' questions. "That's been our goal for a long time. That's the way we're going to approach this next season. We're the best team, and we're going to prove it again."

Pedro Davila and his sons came from Grand Prairie. They were hoping to meet players and get autographs.

"We're hoping for great success from the Rangers, so they can get back to the World Series again," said Christian Davila, one of Pedro's sons. "But this time, they can go and win."

The Texas Rangers will begin the 2012 season on Friday, April 6 against the Chicago White Sox.
