Mayor Robert Cluck and members of City Council were out this past Saturday, December 13 to help raise money for those in need this holiday season at the Salvation Army Mayoral Red Kettle Challenge.
The challenge started in 2009 with the mayors from Arlington, Mansfield, Dalworthington Gardens, Pantego, and Kennedale facing off to see who could raise the most money for The Salvation Army.
This year, in addition to overall totals, The Salvation Army will also recognize the mayor that raises the most money per capita.
Mayor Cluck, along with members of City Council, appeared Saturday as bell ringers at the Walmart on Randol Mill Rd. across from AT&T Stadium and outside of Dillards at The Parks at Arlington.
Last year's event raised over $37,800. The Red Kettle Program funds programs throughout the year for The Salvation Army.
