Saturday will be a big day in Arlington as baseball and football fans add to the amusement park crowds in the Entertainment District. A busier than usual weekend is expected at Six Flags Over Texas and Hurricane Harbor for the final weekend before the start of the new school year. Texas Rangers fans will be filing into the Ballpark in Arlington for a 3:05 p.m. first pitch and by then tailgaters should be busy across the street at Cowboys Stadium, gearing up for the Dallas Cowboys home opening pre-season game at 7 p.m.

Over the past few years, the teams have shared game days in Arlington and the city has successfully hosted other nearly simultaneous events in the Entertainment District. As always, fans are encouraged to pre-plan their routes, arrive early, follow the directions of officers working the intersections, and be patient. Most importantly, have a great time!

TRAFFIC TIPS

Pre-plan your driving routes to and from the events

Arrive early

    • Parking lots at Cowboys Stadium are scheduled to open at 2 p.m.
    • GamesRangers parking lots will open at noon
  • Additional secure parking is also available at pre-approved businesses throughout the Entertainment District. These locations could be easily identified by the green circle with a "P"inside it.

Follow the directions of traffic officers

    • Public Safety officials are working with the City of Arlington's Public Works employees to get you safely to and from the two venues. Their directions will get you where you need to go safely.
  • Consider routes that might appear counter-productive. You may be directed away from the area for the quickest route to get to the specific parking lot you need.

Be patient

  • More than anything else, be patient. We encourage people to be considerate of other drivers on the road and the pedestrians walking to and from the venues.
