As the summer approaches and the temperatures start to rise, what is the best thing to do? Swim!
The City of Arlington Parks and Recreation Department is ready to help you deal with the summer heat. Pool passes for the 2012 season are now available and can be used at all six outdoor pools from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.
"It is predicted to be a warm summer and we are excited to have our pools open for the community," said Maria Campbell, Aquatics Manager. "I strongly encourage patrons to purchase a season pass as soon as possible to avoid long admission lines at our pools during the summer."
Passes can be purchased at the Park Administration Building, 717 West Main St. or at any City of Arlington aquatic facility. The cost is $50 for persons under 48" and $60 for persons 48" and above. Discounts are offered for purchasing multiple passes.
With the heat wave last summer pool attendance was at an all-time high. In 2011, over 130,000 people utilized the outdoor pools located in Arlington. Spraygrounds located in three city parks were also heavily used.
