After a second consecutive Saturday of record visitors at Texas Christkindl Market, the City of Arlington prepares to host Walter Hartl, the Lord Mayor of Rothenburg, Germany this Saturday and Sunday, December 13-14.
The public will be able to meet with the Lord Mayor Saturday from 4-6 p.m. and Sunday from 1-2 p.m.
Rothenburg is the sister market city of Arlington and both Saturday and Sunday at the market will be known as "Rothenburg Weekend."
Sunday, December 14 will be known as "Arlington Day" at the Rothenburg, Germany Christmas Market.

Gift-buying Christmas markets in Germany have been a pre-holiday activity dating back as early as the 17th century.
Known for its medieval setting, Rothenburg is home to the annual "Reiterlesmarkt," one of several Christmas Markets that spring up around Germany in the weeks leading up to December 25.
Texas Christkindl Market is in its fourth year in Arlington. It's open from 10:00 am - 10:00 pm Saturday and 12:00 pm - 9:00 pm on Sunday through Friday.
