One of the nation's best poets is ready to create a new generation of teen spoken word artists, right here in Arlington.

"Slam Master' Mike Guinn is looking for junior high school students to join him Tuesday, Feb. 26 in the Southeast Branch Library Community Room for a six-week poetry and performance workshop. The branch is located at 900 S.E. Green Oaks Boulevard.

This high-energy interactive series will bring out the poet and performer in each participant. Learn the basics in poetry writing and techniques of SLAM. Each week teens will participate in various exercises and games that will spark creativity, ignite writing, and energize overall performance technique.
