Service Extends To Downtown Arlington
The Arlington Trolley Board has announced that service from select Arlington hotels to Downtown Arlington will begin May 25th though September 30th, 2012.
In cooperation with the Downtown Arlington Management Corporation and the Arlington Convention & Visitors Bureau, a new trolley service called the "Downtown Express"will introduce tourists and visitors to the Downtown Arlington experience and new businesses.
The trolley will carry guests between any of the 23 trolley district hotels and Downtown Arlington entertainment venues, including the Levitt Pavilion, Arlington Music Hall, Theatre Arlington, University of Texas at Arlington College Park District and many restaurants located in the downtown area.
Board President Barry White, General Manager of the Hawthorn Suites, says: "There are exciting things happening around Downtown Arlington that hotel guests need to experience for themselves!"
Arlington's iconic red trolley service began in 1996 in the Arlington Entertainment District. The service has provided transportation for Arlington visitors between participating hotels in the city's entertainment district and popular area attractions that include Six Flags Over Texas, Hurricane Harbor, the Texas Rangers Ballpark, Cowboys Stadium, the International Bowling Campus and the Arlington Convention Center.
"There's tremendous development that Downtown Arlington and UTA are undergoing,"said President & CEO of the Arlington Convention & Visitors Bureau, Jay Burress. "Right now is an ideal time for Downtown Express to bring tourists to experience the downtown area."
Service will be daily from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., starting May 25th through September 30th. The trolley is free to registered guests who reserve a space at participating hotels. See www.arlingtontrolley.com for additional information about the Downtown Express and a list of participating hotel properties.
