The Popular Public Magazine Receives Fresh Look for Summer
The Arlington Parks and Recreation Departments magazine, "Naturally Funtimes', will have a new look for summer 2013.
Since the early 1990s, the Naturally Funtimes magazine has been a resource guide for Arlington Parks and Recreation classes, programs and facilities. The upcoming change in content, layout, and stylistic vision comes in part due to the recent acquisition of new Marketing and Enterprise Development Coordinator Phillip Rogers.
"We are constantly searching for innovative ways to inform Arlington residents of our programs and offerings, and the Naturally Funtimes magazine is an integral piece of that effort,' Rogers said. "After receiving input from both our staff and program participants, we believe that the revamped layout is compelling, attractive and easier to navigate, all of which should result in more engagement and a better reader experience.'
The redesign of the Naturally Funtimes will now include parks and recreation feature stories, employee spotlights, Q&A sections, and participant photographs and feature stories. The new and improved Naturally Funtimes magazine is scheduled to hit the stands in May 2013.
Arlington Parks and Recreation Marketing and Enterprise Development Manager Ryan Hegreness said that although content will be added, the size and production cost of the magazine will not change.
"With the new design, we streamlined information on classes, programs and facilities which, in turn, allowed us to insert stories about the great folks who work for us and the inspiring people who participate in our programs,' Hegreness said. "By condensing the previous content we were able to keep the same page count and avoid incurring any additional production costs.'
Free copies of the Naturally Funtimes will be available at recreation centers, city buildings and public libraries. Additionally, the magazine will be available for download by visiting naturallyfun.org.
