The Fishing Librarian will make his 2012 debut on Saturday at the Naturally Fun Neighborhood Family Fishing Adventure at Randol Mill Park. The Fishing Librarian is an Outdoor Superhero donning a fishing vest instead of a cape. His superpowers include teaching fishing and encouraging reading among people of all ages. He made his debut in 2011.
The fun will begin at 9 a.m. and run through noon. Bring your fishing pole and we will bring the bait. Look for the Naturally Fun trailer by the pond in the back of the park.
The Naturally Fun Neighborhoods (NFN) program began in 2008 to promote recreation and outdoor fun to people around Arlington. The program brings neighborhoods together by offering free family-friendly events, helping to strengthen our community as a whole. These events give people the opportunity to meet their neighbors while participating in a wide variety of activities.
Residents can participate in fishing, kayaking, camping and geocaching. Activities vary based on location and are open to people of all ages, abilities and residency. For more information about this or any of the 2012 NFN events, call 817-459-5477 or email [email protected].
Naturally Fun Neighborhoods is sponsored by The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation.
