A tournament record of forty-nine fishing teams gathered at Lake Arlington last Saturday to take part in the Arlington Bass Classic hosted by the Arlington Parks and Recreation Department.
At the end of the day, the team of Kurt Floyd and Tyler Woods weighed-in an impressive five-fish stringer of 25.6 pounds to clinch the 2016 Arlington Bass Classic held Saturday, April 9, at Lake Arlington.
Floyd and Woods' winning tally was nearly eight pounds more than the runner-up stringer of Keith Carney and Kevin Carney (17.8 pounds).

This year's Big Bass prize winner was Brian Roussel, who reeled in an impressive 8.8 pound largemouth during the tournament. Roussel also came in 3rd place over all with a 17.4 pound stringer.

In addition to the Stringer and Big Bass prizes, the APRD partnered with SCA Promotions to offer a pair of grand prizes to whoever could reel in a new Lake Arlington record ($13,500) and a tagged fish grand prize ($10,000). Both of those grand prizes went unclaimed at this year's event.
"We are excited to be able to offer a fishing tournament in Arlington of this nature," said Assistant Director Gary Packan. "We had a record number of entries this year and are already looking forward to 2017. We are thrilled for the continued growth of this event and if engagement continues, it could spur opportunities for other fishing-related events for Arlington residents and visitors to our community."
All fish caught in the event were released at the conclusion of the weigh-in. A special thanks to Berkley Fishing, Angler's Pro Tackle & Outdoors, Easy View Tackle Systems and Blue Mesa Grill for sponsoring the event.
