Free Concerts at Levitt Pavilion for Performing Arts

The Summer Music Series at Levitt Pavilion continues this weekend with music from three dynamic artists. Grab your lawn chairs, bring the food and coolers, and enjoy a night under the stars. All concerts are FREE to the public.

Friday: The O' s - Good music for good people.

Saturday: Ruthie Foster - Blues straight from the heart of a down-home diva

Sunday: Radney Foster - Lyrical country music from a West Texas poet.

 

Charlotte' s Web at Theatre Arlington

One of America' s best children' s books hits the Theatre Arlington stage this weekend for four performances. Watch the story of Charlotte, an extraordinary spider, and her unlikely friendship with an irresistible young pig unfold on stage in colorful and endearing fashion. Don' t miss a minute of the fun as she embarks on a campaign to save the life of her dear friend. Performances are Friday at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday at 2 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and children ages 3-11. PURCHASE TICKETS HERE.

Backyard Composting Classes

Hear City of Arlington Master Composter volunteers share tips and techniques during Saturday' s composting class at the composting display in the River Legacy Science Center' s parking lot area. The class includes demonstrations of proper pile building and a worm compost bin. Attendees will receive a free book. No need to register, just show up. Visit the Smithsonian Without Leaving Arlington

Don' t miss the Arlington Museum of Art' s summer exhibition Harlem Renaissance: A Celebration of Art & Culture. This exhibit features works from artists such as Jacob Lawrence, Charles White, Aaron Douglas and Richmond Barthé. While there, be sure to visit Arlington' s first Smithsonian art exhibition, William H. Johnson: An American Modern. This exhibit, curated by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibits Services (SITES), brings 20 pieces of Johnson' s work: paintings, drawings, and pictures.

Tickets - Admission to the exhibit is $8 for adults; $5 for students and seniors (over 65); free to members and children under 12 with an adult. Ticket price includes admission to both exhibits. PURCHASE TICKETS HERE.
