The WNBA announced that Dallas Wings guard Skylar Diggins-Smith has been selected to the 2017 All-Star game as a reserve for the Western Conference team. The game will be played in Seattle on Saturday, July 22.
The announcement marks the third WNBA All-Star selection for Diggins-Smith. She was voted to the All-Star Game as a starter in 2014 and 2015.
Diggins continues to be a strong role model for young athletes across the country, giving back to the community and the Metroplex at basketball camps, YMCAs and area schools. She shared her American Dream story with MyArlingtonTV backin November 2016.

A three-time All-American at Notre Dame, Diggins-Smith led the Fighting Irish to the NCAA title game as a sophomore and junior. She also earned Big East Player of the Year honors her junior and senior seasons.
Born and raised in South Bend, Indiana, Diggins-Smith recently released a new book for kids titled The Middle School Rules of Skylar Diggins as told by author Sean Jensen. Her husband, Daniel Smith (who also attended Notre Dame), created the illustrations for the book. The book guides readers through important life lessons and how Skylar Diggins-Smith overcame adversity throughout her childhood.
The Wings continue to play their home games at The University of Texas at Arlington's College Park Center in Downtown. The team returns to The American Dream City on Tuesday, July 25. Tickets can be purchased at www.dallaswings.com.
