The 6th annual Light Up Arlington entertainment lineup includes native Texas country artist Heather Roberts. Roberts recently won New Female Vocal Artist of the Year for 2012 at the Texas Regional Radio Music Awards. Her first single "Blame is on You" made its way to #76 on the Texas Music Charts.

Roberts recently released her second single "Coming Home", a song about the impact of war on family at home. This song was co-written by her Iraq veteran husband. A portion of the sales is being donated to the Veterans of Foreign Wars. "Never be afraid to thank a veteran. We need to remember that our freedom is not free," said Roberts.

Roberts' first experience with music was when she sat in her car seat on stage while her father's band played in the Stockyards. She followed her passion for music through singing in church choir and a high school band. Heather's love for music was put on hold at age 18 when she found a greater love, her family. She has been married to husband, Cisco, for 10 years and has two daughters, Tynleigh and Natalie.

In 2009 Heather decided it was time to pick up music again. This dream was made reality through her husband's love, support and encouragement. "Cisco is the backbone of the operation," said Roberts. He by created their own label, HeRo, and is in charge of bookings, creating the winged heart logo, and helping Heather write songs.

Heather is opening for The Spazmatics at the Coors Light Stage. The show starts at 6 p. m. so bring your blankets and lawn chairs and don't miss it!
