Pledge to help "Heal the Earth" and discover fun and simple ways to do so during River Legacy Living Science Center's Earth Day celebration from 10 am to 2 pm, Saturday, April 9 at the Center, 703 NW Green Oaks Boulevard.
This free event is fun for the whole family and features nature hikes, story time with the Arlington Public Library, games, crafts and more. Family activities include creating art from recycled materials, making wildflower seed balls, investigating the plants and animals of the forest floor, face painting and more!
Attendees will get to make their own "Tree Nametags" with the Cross Timbers Master Naturalists and learn how to go native in their yards with the Native Plant Society of Texas. US Fish & Wildlife will present Endangered Species Artifacts, and the Trinity River Authority will feature a Water Wheel trivia activity. Other guests joining us for Earth Day and providing activities and information include General Motors with a "Green Car" Display and the Texas Metro Wildlife Rehabilitators.
