‘Artists in Motion’ Exhibit at AMA

Beautiful costumes worn by members of Texas Ballet Theater and Dance Theatre of Arlington, along with artwork from local artist Donray, will be on display at the new Artists in Motion exhibit running January 11-February 16 at theArlington Museum of Art, 201 W. Main Street.

This new exhibit features the grace and beauty of dance and other stage performers. See costumes from award-winning costumer designer Ric Leal - whose production credits include Dance Theatre of Arlington and Bass Hall - as well as pieces from Texas Ballet Theater's performances of Dracula and Alice in Wonderland.

Locally-based Donray features a unique style of painting emphasizes color and motion that perfectly balances the exhibit. Skilled in various media and techniques, Donray's work has been on exhibit in New York City, Washington, D.C., Houston, London and Dallas.

A number of programs, artist workshops and lectures will accompany the Artists in Motion exhibit to enhance every visitor's experience.

"This exhibit examines what captivates us about dance, grace and majesty, as well providing a glimpse into the power and message conveyed by stage performers. We are proud to host this collaborative exhibit with our partners Texas Ballet Theater, Dance Theatre Arlington, costume designers Ric Leal and Masako Parshall and the art of Donray," said Chris Hightower, Executive Director of the Arlington Museum of Art.

Artists in Motion is co-presented organized by the Arlington Museum of Art, Dance Theatre of Arlington and Texas Ballet Theater.

Tickets – Admission to the exhibit is $8 for adults; $5 for students and seniors (over 65); free to members and children under 12 with an adult.
