Charlie Parker and Bill Verkest will face each other in a runoff election to represent City Council District 1. District 1 encompasses Arlington's northern neighborhoods and includes the Entertainment District. The Run-Off Election is scheduled for Saturday, June 23, 2012.

Nearly six and a half percent of the registered voters in Arlington participated in the General & Special elections that ended May 12, 2012 with three incumbents returning to the City Council for two more years and Michael Glaspie joining Council representing District 8 At-Large.

District 2 City Council member Sheri Capehart, At-Large District 6 City Council member Robert Shepard and At-Large District 7 City Council member Jimmy Bennett have won re-election bids to the Arlington City Council.
