If you work in downtown Arlington, need to get to the airport or want to catch a Dallas Mavericks game, Metro ArlingtonXpress will soon allow you to get there.

Thanks to Monday's vote by the Fort Worth Transportation Authority, the new Metro ArlingtonXpress - or MAX - is ready to begin service August 19. The venture is a partnership between the City of Arlington, Trinity Railway Express (TRE), the T, Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), University of Texas at Arlington and Arlington Chamber of Commerce.

This two-year pilot project features bus service connecting Trinity Railway Express' CentrePort station to the University of Texas at Arlington located in downtown Arlington. Buses will make regular trips Monday through Friday, from approximately 5:45 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.

A single day, round-trip pass costs $5. With this pass you can access any DART bus or train or T bus for the entire day on which you purchase the pass. Monthly passes are $80.

Students and seniors may ride MAX for $2.50 round trip with a valid DART or T photo ID. Monthly passes are available for $40.

With these passes you can access any DART, T, or Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) bus or train for the entire day on which you purchase the pass.

Seniors and high school students can get a photo ID from DART by clicking here. Get a photo ID from the T by clicking here.

College Students must get their photo ID from DART (valid in the T system as well). Click here for more details.
