North Texas entrepreneurs and business leaders from the region and across the nation are meeting today at the Arlington Convention Center for the U.S. Small Business Administration' s (SBA) National Small Business Week one-day event, which offers tips, tools and trainings for small businesses to start, succeed and grow.
The event commemorates the 50th anniversary of National Small Business Week by honoring the outstanding contributions of local entrepreneurs, small business owners and other industry leaders.
Highlights include a panel in the region' s entrepreneurial ecosystem, growing and going global with supply chains, government contracting and the Affordable Care Act. Small business owners also will have an opportunity to participate in dynamic speed mentoring sessions to help start and grow their small businesses.
The SBA established National Small Business Week in 1963, and this is the first time National Small Business Week is traveling coast-to-coast and Arlington is one of five host areas for events-Seattle (June 17), Arlington (June 18), St. Louis (June 19), Pittsburgh (June 20) and Washington, D.C (June 21).
In addition to in-person events, small business owners can participate in online-only panel discussions on hot topics like social media and business financing starting daily at 3pm CT. All events, in-person and online, will be streamed live onwww.sba.gov/smallbusinessweek. The site also features a full schedule of events and additional information.
