Getting that chicken sandwich on the fly just got twice as easy at the newly-renovated Chick-fil-A location at 1505 North Collins Street. Thanks to the restaurant's new multi-lane drive-thru, the wait for customers in line and the ensuing traffic back up on North Collins should begin to ease up. Drive-thru customers now have two lanes with separate menu boards for placing orders then will merge into one lane for pick up and payment.
"The days of drive-traffic hitting Collins are over,' said franchise operator Carmenza Moreno. "The new multi-lane drive-thru allows us to increase the flow of traffic and the ability to serve customers faster. Aq a; Another benefit of the upgraded drive-thru: a reduction in car emissions caused by idling vehicles.
People attending the November 8 grand opening say they were impressed with the new multi-lane drive-thru. Mayor Robert Cluck dropped by to cut the ribbon, and the Lamar High School Choir made a musical appearance.
With the ability to serve more Chick-fil-A fans, the North Collins location should see an increase in customer satisfaction and sales. "We went from an average 95 transactions per hour to 125 cars per hour,' said Moreno. "We hope to increase that number to 140 cars per hour.'
According to Moreno, her goal is to "become a $5 million business.' At the current pace, the Chick-fil-A at North Collins location should earn $4.1 million by the end of the year. The restaurant is slated to reach $5 million in sales by the end of 2014.
