Searching for Missing Elderly Man with Early Signs of Dementia

The Arlington Police Department is asking for the public's help locating a missing Arlington man who was last seen by his family Thursday evening. Billy Kirby Sr., an 86-year-old man who is showing signs of developing dementia, is believed to be driving a 2002 Blue Chevy Silverado with Texas license plate 7FYZS for a disabled person. He is described as being 6'2" tall and weighing about 250 pounds. Mr. Kirby was last seen wearing a blue jean jacket and jeans. A photo of Mr. Kirby is included with this message.

Mr. Kirby's family reported him missing at about 4 a.m. today (Friday, Dec. 13) when they discovered that he was not at his home in the 1000 block of Wilshire Boulevard. After sending a message to local law enforcement agents about Mr. Kirby, Arlington Police Officers were notified that Mr. Kirby was seen by Dallas Police near Illinois Avenue and Hampton Road at about 11:15 p.m. Mr. Kirby had not yet been reported missing and the Dallas officers provided the man directions back to Arlington on Interstate 30.
