The first Animal Services birthday party of 2016 was held on Saturday, January 30 for Mariah Hanlon.
Mariah turned 10 years old and wanted to celebrate at Arlington Animal Services with her family and friends. Mariah is a huge animal lover and asked her guest to bring donations for the shelter animals in lieu of birthday gifts. Mariah and her guests excitement filled the room as Volunteer Administrator Cheri Colbert talked about animal safety and being a responsible pet owner.
The highlight of the day was when two furry pet therapy animals, Diggins and Elwood came to visit and put smiles on the faces of everyone there.
Mariah, the birthday girl said "I absolutely loved everything about my party. The volunteers were nice and the activities were fun!"
Mariah's parents said the party was planned out and very organized. "The volunteers were amazing at keeping the party moving along. It was a great learning experience in a fun environment. Everything was done for me, I was able to sit back, socialize with family and friends, and actually enjoy my daughter's birthday. Thank you for all your hard work!"
