City Council will get an opportunity to hear additional public input on the Division Street Corridor Strategy at Tuesday evening's council meeting before taking their first vote on an ordinance to adopt the plan. The hearing caps off months of meetings, surveys and open houses through which property owners, residents and other stakeholders worked with city planners to develop a strategy for Division.
Discover Division is dedicated to creating an economically viable, safe and attractive corridor, building on its historical base with a diverse mix of stable business supported through close associations of property and business owners.
The goals for this strategy are to build on past work and to get dirt moving and projects off the ground. This strategy does not seek to rely heavily on capital improvement projects with little return on public investment. Rather, the strategy seeks to identify current market-based opportunities that can be implemented in the short-term. The strategy aims to address visual clutter, promote walkable places, maintain vital thoroughfare movement and create places for businesses to thrive.
