UT Arlington decathlete Romain Martin cruised to his third consecutive outdoor conference decathlon championship, this time taking top honors during the Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Maverick Stadium.
Martin kicked off Thursday morning's events with a first-place showing in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.49. He later won the pole vault with a clearance of 15-08.50 and took second in the discus (130-08). After grabbing third in the javelin (184-07) the senior had an insurmountable total of 6,986 points and was able to drop out of the final event, the 1500 meters.
